The St. Regis New Capital, Cairo

We stayed here to unwind and relax at the end of a busy tour of Egypt's ancient sites. The location is far from the chaos of Cairo, and it's certainly not a great hub if you're planning to tour the popular sites in Giza and Memphis. New Capital City is still largely uninhabited, especially during the post-Ramadan holiday when we were here, and it felt like we almost had this 95-acre palace to ourselves. The hotel lobby, restaurants, and suites are opulent, and the staff is exactly what you'd expect at a top, luxury hotel. Coming from the USA, we also found the pricing to be quite reasonable. We stayed in a St. Regis suite, which was quite spacious. The bed and pillows were luxuriously comfortable, and we liked the adjacent dressing room and massive bathroom with both a large walk-in shower and soaking tub. A generous spread of welcome treats awaited us on our dining table, though there was only one plate and napkin... perhaps they didn't realize we were a family of 3 when preparing the room? We also enjoyed the dual balconies with views of the pool. It's hard to find any faults, but the only thing I'd mention is that some of the grounds/facilities are in need of attention. The vast complex of pools, lagoons, bridges, walkways, and beautiful landscaping come alive at dusk with beautiful accent lighting; however, we noticed quite a number of step lights, wash lights, etc. were clearly broken. While the lobby and hotel itself looks like it was built to very high standards, some of the grounds had areas where it appears poor workmanship has prevented the design from reaching its full potential. Some areas look perfectly fine while others have broken pavers, lights hanging from their sockets, excessive paint peeling, etc. But overall, we were thrilled with our short stay here and wish we had at least one more day to enjoy it!

I stayed here for 7 days and 6 nights, the experience was unforgettable!! The location is in the New Capital, which was very far from the city and main attractions which made transportation a huge issue. However, I don't regret choosing this location because the service and hospitality made the stay worth it. The staff as a whole work as a team to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. From the very start, we were greeted by our personal butler and in the suite, some complementary snacks and a personalized note. The View from the rooms was to die for, and the facilities they offer are perfect for people of all ages and family friendly. Their breakfast buffets carry a wide variety of nutritious foods and they do switch some dishes up every couple days. I cannot stress enough on how wonderful the staff truly is, and I have been to countless world renowned hotels and resorts across the globe, including Atlantis Dubai. They seriously came a close second to their standards! Overall, I 100% recommend that you book your stay at their hotel, you won't want to leave! Shout out to the amazing housekeeping and pool staff and the Manager at the reception that took great care of us during our trip ✨

Luxury hotel at a reasonable price! This hotel is massive - with plenty of amenities including restaurants, a full gym, several pools, and more. It is located in the New Administrative Capital - which is about an hour drive from central Cairo making it a bit challenging to use as a base for visiting the city. The breakfast buffet (included as a welcome gift for Platinum members) is impressive. The butler service was also excellent.

We had a perfect stay at this hotel for our special occasion. The hospitality was outstanding, the views were breathtaking, and the atmosphere was peaceful and valuable. It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Moheb and experience the exceptional service from the entire team🤍

This hotel boasts tremendous potential due to its luxurious design and impressive amenities. However, the disappointing service and chaotic atmosphere are quite surprising for a property bearing the St. Regis name. --- Pros Fabulous Room – Spacious, elegant, and truly five-star in design. Superb Architecture and Facilities – The building is stunning, with high-end amenities that exude luxury. Room Upgrade – A much-appreciated gesture. Thoughtful Welcome Treats – Complimentary fruits and sweets were a nice idea, though they were poorly managed (see below). --- Cons Off-Putting Lobby – Cigarette smoke everywhere, cigarette butts on the floor, and very noisy. Definitely not the refined ambiance one expects from a St. Regis. Repetitive Breakfast – The same limited selection each day, falling short of expectations for a luxury hotel. Chaotic Checkout – Despite requesting my luggage an hour in advance, it was still in my room 1.5 hours later. Even after waiting another 20+ minutes at my car, it hadn’t arrived. This delay caused me to miss my flight, which is unacceptable. Poorly Managed Room Service – The complimentary fruits and sweets were left uncovered for three days, with no one replacing or removing them—an unhygienic oversight. Misleading Charges – Although staff said laundry (2 pieces per person per day) was free, they later attempted to charge me for it. --- Final Thoughts It’s strange to see such service issues at a St. Regis property. The building, rooms, and facilities are outstanding, but the lack of organization and attention to detail seriously undermines the overall experience. If these problems are resolved, this could easily become one of the best hotels in Cairo.
