The Merchant House, Manama

I recently spent two nights at The Merchant House in Bahrain and was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of my stay. Without opting for breakfast, I had the chance to explore the vibrant culinary scene around the hotel — and its central location in the old town made that incredibly easy. Surrounded by authentic local restaurants and cultural sights, the hotel is perfectly situated for anyone wanting to experience the true spirit of Manama. The hotel sits on a busy road, but the rooms are wonderfully quiet — a welcome retreat after a day out. The design is modern yet warm, with spacious rooms that feel both luxurious and relaxed. I especially appreciated the Jura coffee machine in my room — a small detail that made a big difference. The entire atmosphere strikes a balance between boutique charm and high-end comfort. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile with a genuine smile. The on-site coffee shop (Gray) deserves special mention — I had one of the best flat whites I’ve had in a long time! Though compact, the gym was clean, modern, and had everything I needed for a quick workout. The small pool area was charming and perfect for a refreshing dip after a day exploring the city. The hotel restaurant, with its floral design and open-air feel, provided a beautiful setting for dinner and is conveniently open until 11pm. You’ll find well curated art everywhere in the hotel. A standout surprise was discovering a real Picasso in the library — just one of the many touches that make this place unique. Overall, The Merchant House is a stylish oasis in the heart of the city. I’ll definitely return — and next time, I’ll stay longer.

Exceptional service from all employees. The restaurant was delicious for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The massage was exceptional. The art is unique. The mezzanine is beautiful. A lovely stay!

This hotel is a true spectacle and a masterpiece of interior design, from the rooms to the gym—every corner is crafted with incredible attention to detail. My room was very spacious, ultra clean and comfortable. The food was OUTSTANDING. The breakfast was delightful, and lunch was equally enjoyable. The library has an impressive collection of books and provides a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. I was able to work perfectly from there. The highlight of my stay was the staff—exceptionally helpful, flexible, friendly, and positive. What a fantastic hotel, I absolutely loved my stay and would definitely return. I highly recommend the green pancakes for breakfast. Thank you so much to Max, Farhat, and all the front desk guys.

In the center of Manama, everything near 👌 Very artistic and lots of beautiful paintings, there is also an original painting of Picaso 😍 The staff are so welcoming and cooperative. The food is good to share and tasty. Make sure to tour the place and the amazing library ... and yeah, enjoy!

Really great Boutique Style Hotel in the center of Manama. Was there 2 nights for a business trip and it was perfect. Pretty huge rooms, lovely breakfast and really excellent restaurant for dinner. Staff was super nice and attentive as well.
