Platinum Hotel Jimbaran Beach Bali

Nice hotel with a couple of pools, roof top deck where the restaurant is has great views over beach. Restaurant food was great and reasonably priced. Included breakfast buffet was certainly of the best we have seen. Location wise it's just across the road from the beach. It's at the quiet end and if you want to do some shopping you'd have to get a taxi. The only negative would be the beach itself which is quite steep and at high tide you wouldn't want to swim there. In NZ you'd refer to them as "dumpers". The other end of the beach is much better suit swimming.

Staying at Platinum Hotel was a fascinating experinces. Very friendly hotel staffs, nice and luxury bed rooms, great food and services..We had an unforgettable reunion and the best one ever! Thank you and appreciated for all good work to make our stay comfortable. You deserve the five star!

A three star hotel at best, disguised as a five star hotel. Do not be fooled by the ‘Sea side room with balcony’ - it’s a room with a very blocked view where you will see the tops of the restaurants opposite the hotel. It’s on ‘level 5’ which is really level 2 as the hotel only has 5 levels - ground/lobby then level 5-8. It’s extremely misleading and I had a very hard time explaining to hotel employees that the photos put online for the sea view room are false advertising - the view is not what has been shown in those photos. Though, we are very grateful for Denny who was kind enough to upgrade us to level 7 ocean view for our second and third night. The view was lovely and you could not fault it. However, what was a huge vibe killer was the sewer smell coming from the bathroom. If you read the other low star reviews, you’ll see a pattern of people commenting on the sewer smell that is extremely strong. I’ve attached photos of the hotel employee coming to try and fix the smell at midnight as we just could not take it anymore. I would not recommend this hotel as it may look premium online but it’s not the case in reality. If you do stay, don’t expect 5 star.

Hotel is modern, nice big room, very friendly staff, great location opposite the beach, great spa, gym and swimming pools. Rooftop bar and restaurant is something completely different. Food and service is shocking. My wife and I went there for dinner, we were not very hungry so we chose ala carte menu rather than BBQ seafood and steak banquet. I ordered chicken salad and my wife ordered chicken soup. After about 20 minutes we asked one of the staff if she could check on our order, she never came back another 10 minutes later we asked another staff, again no response another 10 minutes later overall 40 minutes we decided to leave, they asked us to stay and our food will be ready in 5 minutes, we left. Next night we went for a their Seafood and Steak BBQ banquet. There was no one to meet us at the door and guide us to a table so we found a table, staff didn’t even know we were there for at least 10 minutes. I got 3 slices of steak which was cold and not addible, couldn’t bite it, was like rubber, salad had about 30% brown onion. Bbq white fish was overcooked and dry, small prawns on a skewer was overcooked and dry and stir fried calamari was average. Overall staff seemed lazy, they don’t seem to have proper system in place, not well trained. Their kitchen staff just the same, food was poor and definitely not a 5 star or even 4 star more like 2 star service and food. It’s a shame because it has enormous potential, great rooftop venue. New manager and completely new staff is needed here, their culture need to change at this beautiful rooftop venue.

I am to agree on the previous reviews in regards to the F&B. Mediocre would be a compliment to the food experienced. Breakfast, which offers a wide variety of choice, but in questionable quality. The waffles and french toast rock hard, the eggs pre cooked and therefore mostly cold, the foccacia must have been from days before... The puff pastry sitting in a warm holding cabinet until so dry that they crumble when you touch them. I lost interest to sample the rest. The real downturn is the heavily advertised buffet offered on the rooftop. The chicken overcooked, the prawns cooked so long that they resembled a mash, the precooked beef was tuff and sitting in a chaffing dish, cold and tasteless.. The so called live cooking station was fitted with a tiny pre roasted piece of beef, which than was cut by a chef into cold cut thin slices... on the bbq some fish was grilled and tossed into a chaffing dish... and surprise, as well cold only after a few minutes, dry and overcooked. The pizza menue was not available due to a function.... this may happen. But guess what the next day, same story as another function takes place. The hotel is heavily frequented by groups, which is understandable from the hotels point of view, yet individual holiday makers seem to take the second seat due to it. The room was good, however the bathroom smells moldy and would need a good scrubbing, particularly in the shower and bathtub. My compliment to the social media presence of the hotel, yet it is misleading to what it really is. The expectation created is not met by the product. The staff is not to blame... they are very polite and make every effort. I do have the suspicion that the issues in quality need to be addressed somewhere else.
