Pier88 Nile River

We were told that we would be having lunch by the Nile, but we had no idea of how amazing it would be. The entrance is reached a series of gangways, ramps and steps. A little bit awkward for those with mobility issues, but certainly not insurmountable. Once inside, we were astonished at the decor, which was very upmarket, one of the best we had seen in Egypt. Apart from the sumptuous decorations, it was pure white cotton tablecloths & napkins, with silver service cutlery. The food was impressive, lots of choice, very well presented, a good mixture of cuisine, and lots of it. They were slightly slow at topping up some items, but I think that was because they had a few customers than they expected, and were having to cook up some additional food. We had an all inclusive package for the food, so could eat as much as we liked; but drinks including water were extra. However, a large glass of wine and a bottle of beer was less than £4 each, so I didn't consider it too expensive. The view was really good, looking at various boats moving about the river. The service was good, and they were very attentive. Really could not fault it in any way. Not at all what we expected, a really nice addition to the trip to Cairo.

Great ambience and excellent service. We decided to only order starters and cocktails, and we were not disappointed. Very high quality ingredients and great presentation, and very creative cocktails. The place itself is very lively with a retro feel- very much enjoyed it.

this food was 10/10. the restaurant is located on the third floor and sits right along the Nile river. I had the beef wagyu tacos to start and THEY WERE SO AMAZING, I came back the next day for more. I also had the Rigatoni pasta which was flavorful and the steak. The cocktails do not have a lot of alcohol but the Passion Fruit mule was refreshing. Americans like to taste the alcohol in their cocktails LOL but it was great nonetheless. The staff is very friendly! I felt well taken care of and accommodated. I spent around $4900EGP for two drinks, water, a starter, 2 main dishes and dessert.

I visited a beautiful restaurant with a stunning atmosphere, where the serene views complemented the incredible food. Every dish was flavorful and fresh, making it a perfect dining experience by the river. Looking forward to come back 🔥

Pier88 describes itself as a high-end eatery, but the reality doesn't match the aspiration. The food was mediocre and expensive for what it is. It was a chore to finish my meal rather than being an enjoyable experience. The flavors were overwhelming, lacking any subtlety or balance. The saving grace was the burrata which was delicious. The attempt at creating a sophisticated atmosphere was hampered by some tacky additions: a distracting television, plastic tarp so you couldn’t see the Nile view at all, artificial floral arrangements. The service, while polite lacked some finesse. Overall experience was disappointing and far from an upscale dining experience.
