Orrery

We visited Orrery on a Sunday lunchtime to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and I honestly couldn’t fault the experience from start to finish. We chose the Sunday menu and it was delightful. The beetroot starter was absolutely delicious, and the beef medallion was cooked to perfection. Portions were generous too — once you factor in the excellent bread with the starters, we were completely satisfied and didn’t quite manage dessert (although that was no bad thing!). The service deserves special mention: attentive without being overbearing, genuinely friendly, and very warm throughout. We were welcomed with champagne on arrival, and as it was my wife’s birthday, the team surprised us at the end with a lovely chocolate cake, which was a really thoughtful touch. The restaurant itself is light, spacious and very well organised…it feels calm, elegant and comfortable. Pricing also felt very reasonable given the quality of the food and the level of service. Overall, this was one of those rare dining experiences you genuinely remember, a well-deserved five stars from me, and somewhere I’d happily return to and recommend to others.

I try to visit this place every time I’m in London. It’s my go-to for every celebration and every “little treat.” The food is outstanding and creative, and the service is warm and welcoming, but also professional and crisp. Matteo (I think is his name) is an amazing host and runs a beautiful dinning space. Every dish is a star, but I’d be remiss if I failed mention the cheese plate, which is one of the best presented and varied I’ve ever had.

We came for dinner last week and sat out on the terrace on a perfect evening. The food was sublime - but that's only part of it: Everyone made us feel so welcome, the service was tip top, friendly yet respectful. All in all it was a wonderful experience. Thank you

Food here is amazing! Wine even better.The flavours are going to take you on a journey that will make you wish you lived next door so you could eat here everyday! Service is a 12/10, the team can have a good laugh. Definitely recommend everyone visit here 👍

We came here for the Christmas course menu and we are never one to complain about a restaurant but we had a genuinely terrible experience. The interior was lovely but we were sat right next to the waiters’ station at the door and we could hear them complaining about their boss getting mad at them and their attitude the entire meal and at one point, one of the ladies stepped out hysterically crying to the bathroom. It was very distracting and not very pleasant and detracted from the whole environment. I understand it’s a work environment but it was very unprofessional and that’s all we could hear while we ate. Also, we aren’t sure if it’s on purpose but the only 3 non-white families at the restaurant were sat at this place, right by the door, near the workers’ station, slightly sectioned away from the rest of the space. Whilst it may just be coincidence, my parents told me it used to happen to them often when they dined at fine restaurants until 10 years ago but we didn’t think too much about it- just something we noted when the incident was happening beside us. The starters were amazing but the seafood ravioli had fish bones and scales in it which was unexpected for a course that is £175 +£105 for the wine pairing. We asked for the steak medium rare but they came medium or well done. The filet steak was very tough and we had to ask for steak knives after 20 minutes of trying to eat it and they had it in a box right next to us at the servers station with the billing machine… I’m not sure why they were not given with the main in the first place. The place was beautiful and the staff were attentive and friendly as I’ve read people say in other reviews but just disappointed by the unprofessionalism especially when we had high expectations for this restaurant. We will unfortunately have to tell our acquaintances to avoid this place. Hope the restaurant reads this.
