A Stunning Royal Landmark! Buckingham Palace is a must-visit when in London! The grandeur of the palace, with its iconic facade and rich history, is truly impressive. Watching the Changing of the Guard ceremony is a highlight—it’s a fascinating display of tradition and precision. The surrounding gardens and Victoria Memorial add to the beauty of the area, making it a great spot for photos. While you can’t always go inside, the exterior alone is worth the visit, and during the summer months, the State Rooms offer a rare glimpse into royal life. A trip to London wouldn’t be complete without seeing Buckingham Palace!

Buckingham Palace was really just okay. I saw it from afar and that was enough. We were early enough to see the changing of the guards so we stayed. It was extremely crowded. I didn't get to see much from where I stood inside the railings. However, the five stars go to Police Officer Wilson. I admired they way he spoke to everyone there. When he saw little kids, he'd give them a high-five and a candy. He had a great big smile on his face the entire time even though he repeated himself 100 times a minute to oblivious tourists. I heard him mention to a fellow officer that Sunday would be his last changing of the guard because he's retiring Tuesday (3/18/2025). Officer Wilson, I pray that your retirement brings you more joy, health and wealth (and that cup of coffee with one sugar) than you can imagine! Without knowing you had the attention of quite a few adults who smiled at your witty comments, jokes and genuine approach to those that crossed your path. You sir are a Legend!

Buckingham Palace is a stunning symbol of British history and royalty! The grand architecture, iconic Changing of the Guard ceremony, and beautifully maintained surroundings make it a must-visit. Whether admiring from the outside or exploring the State Rooms, it’s a truly majestic experience.

We visited Buckingham Palace last August and had an incredible experience exploring both the State Rooms and the gardens. The palace is only open to visitors for a limited time each year, typically from July to September, with opening hours from 09:30 to 17:15 (last admission at 15:15). If you’re visiting London during the summer, this is an unmissable experience! The palace itself is breathtaking, with its ornate gilded ceilings, chandeliers, and priceless artworks from the Royal Collection. Walking through the rooms where the King hosts official ceremonies was a fascinating glimpse into the British monarchy’s traditions. The history of Buckingham Palace dates back to 1703, originally built as a townhouse for the Duke of Buckingham before becoming the monarch’s official residence in 1837 under Queen Victoria. After touring the State Rooms, I highly recommend joining the Garden Tour. The gardens are surprisingly vast and feel like a peaceful escape in the middle of London. The guided tour gives insight into the rare plant species, the lake, and even the famous Helicopter Lawn where the Royal Family arrives by air. The best way to end the visit? Relaxing with a coffee and cake on the terrace café, overlooking the beautiful palace gardens. If you’re visiting in summer, book tickets in advance as they sell out quickly. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or just looking for a unique London experience, Buckingham Palace is absolutely worth it!

I'm not a fan of the royals which made it more funny that I walked past just as king Charles was being escorted in with plenty of police escorts. I'm sure a lot of people would love to see that. But I do like st James park and Hyde park and the general views of the palace and surroundings. Of course if you're a tourist it's high on the list of things to see just to say you've seen it. So go and check out all the relaxing scenery nearby too.
