Jamavar

One of the best indian food I have ever had in my life! The samosa mutter chaat was the prefect flavour bomb to start off the lunch, followed by a nicely grilled paneer tikka. The star of the show was of course the paneer lababdar with rich taste of tomato and spiced with chilli . My partner also enjoyed his butter chicken a lot. The palak mushroom, tadka da, rice and breads were fantastic compliments. We left satisfied with a full belly and we thought the set lunch was of good value. Staffs were attentive and helpful, the interior was beautifully designed. Jamavar’s michelin star is well earned :)

Jamavar offers an elegant yet welcoming dining room, with stylish interiors, warm lighting and a relaxed buzz that feels ideal for both intimate dinners and small gatherings. The atmosphere feels luxurious without being stuffy, and the location in Mayfair makes the experience feel truly special from the moment you arrive. Service at Jamavar is polished and professional, and the team is attentive without being intrusive, happy to explain dishes and guide you through the menu. On our visit, Khadak Singh looked after us with exceptional care, ensuring we were comfortable throughout and that every detail of our meal was perfectly timed. Khadak Singh’s kind, personable manner made us feel truly looked after and added a personal touch to what was already an excellent dining experience. The restaurant host, Karishma, also genuinely elevated our evening with her warmth and professionalism. She welcomed us with a smile, checked in at just the right moments.

We ordered the lobster idli sambar and stone bass tikka for starters, followed by the laal Maas, and finally the pistachio milk cake for dessert. We also got cocktails to accompany the meal, the royal blush was my personal favourite. Service was personal and fast, and the ambience was unmatched. As for the food, I believe the Michelin star alone does not do the restaurant justice as Jamavar goes above and beyond with the flavours it puts on your plate

We have visited this place for dinner on 14th March. We were greeted by host warmly and got table on 1st floor as ground floor sitting is bit clostrophobic. Occasion was Mothers day. We tried some recommended cockails by server. They were very good. We tried several starters like kathal bhel, Kasundi paneer, aaloo tikki chaat and tandoor chicken. Mains were Morel mushroom curry, Roti basket, Veg Biryani ( Rice was bit overcooked/ mushy). Presentation good, taste is good. My concern was starters were being served luke warm ( Paneer, kathal tikki) and being Michelin star, the plates were very basic white which does not elevates food. Desserts were okay. We tried Pistachio milk cake and Mothers day special Profiterole. Pistachio milk cake was bit dry in the middle as i was expecting softer as usually it is soaked in flavoured milk. We paid some £300+ for 2 adults and a child. We enjoyed restaurant's ambience and recommended cocktails by Mr Dipak were 10/10. We were Lucky enough to greet The Chef patron himself on the evening. Hope when we plan next visit, above minor recommendations will be considered. Thank you.
