Paro – Covent Garden & Strand – Best Indian Restaurant London

Great food, great service and overall a great restaurant. We went with a group of 17 for a birthday meal and the staff were fantastic, very attentive and they gave us a birthday card and dessert on the house for the birthday girl. They were very helpful and we had no issues with our orders, nor feeling rushed, despite being such a large group, and the food was delicious. Lots of vegetarian options and all meat dishes were Halal too, plus we loved that we had the option to customise spice levels for the dishes too. A great, friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff, would recommend for going to eat with big or small groups!

We had a great dinner at Paro. The pappadum was delicious, especially the three sauces, which were all excellent and very moreish. The tiger prawn dish was tasty and well cooked, although the sweetness was a little strong for our preference. We also ordered the meat thali, which was very generous in portion size — even sharing between two people, we couldn’t finish it. All three curries were really good, flavourful without being too spicy or too salty. The lamb had a slightly chewy texture, which we enjoyed. Special thanks to our waiter Fuhad, who was very friendly and attentive and made the experience even better. Overall, a lovely meal and a place we would happily return to.

2 of us ate here before the Lion King show. We ordered from the pre dinner menu and were not disappointed. We ordered lamb samosas and bang chicken to start and chicken & lamb baltis. Both courses were delicious. We booked for 6 and arrived 15 minutes early. We were seated almost immediately. The place was already busy on a Tuesday evening and was buzzing. The service was friendly and attentive (thank you, Sam) we finished in perfect time to be seated next door in time for the 7.30 show.

Sam and the rest of the staff were brilliant. Very polite and friendly overall great service. The restaurant has a good atmosphere, nice background music. The food had interesting flavours, some dishes ran a bit mild so if you like your spice - ask for more.

The vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant are great, and I absolutely loved the aesthetic. I started off with a classic mango lassi, no complaints there. For starters, my friends and I got the bang bang chicken and lamb samosas, both of which were decent at best. Given the steep price point, I expected more, and the presentation was mediocre. The chicken was a bit bland, and getting only three pieces just wasn't worth it. The samosas were fine, but nothing special. For my main, I ordered the meat thali, which was a highlight. It comes with plenty of food and a great variety: lamb curry, butter chicken, dhal, yogurt, pickle, rice, and a naan. The lamb had great flavour and depth, and the butter chicken was equally good. Both curries were very generous with the meat. I especially loved the dhal; it had a comforting, homey feel that I'd highly recommend. The rice was standard, though I think a slightly larger portion was needed for the amount of curry provided. I personally wasn't a fan of the naan, but overall, the thali was a solid choice.
