Anantara Veli Maldives Resort

The customer service is top notch. The reception staff (our host Ibrahim), the wait staff are very well trained, very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. This itself made us enjoy the stay. The food in all the restaurants is excellent, you try anything from a buffet or alacarte menu, you will enjoy it. The bungalows are spacious and have good views. Rooms are well cleaned and all amenities are topped up every day. Our housekeeper (Rashad, if not mistaken) was very friendly, such a humble person. We would like to thank each and everyone in this hotel for making our honeymoon impeccable. (Ibrahim&Aidana)

Wonderful location, about 30min boat ride from Male. Water is stunning, clear, clean and the staggeringly beautiful blue/green colour. The resort was great. We stayed in an over water villa and being able to take a few steps from the deck into the water to swim and snorkel was amazing. We had the full board covering all meals at 4 of the 7 restaurants (drinks separate and the 3 signature restaurants were discounted based on full board already paid). The food was plentiful and delicious. The staff were friendly and delightful. Rashad, Fadia, Shan and Ali were all wonderful. Smiling and happy. They made us laugh and definitely added to a great experience. We'd happily return.

We stayed at the Anantara Veli Maldives Resort for our trip to paradise, and the experience truly lived up to the name. Anantara Veli delivered a dreamlike escape every single day. Our overwater bungalow was a highlight—having the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean just steps away made it effortless to jump in for a swim anytime. The room was consistently clean and thoughtfully maintained throughout the day. There was no shortage of ways to enjoy our time: lounging by the beach, pool, or right at the villa; snorkeling in crystal-clear waters; or hopping between islands for a taste of local adventure. The food options were diverse and exciting, making it easy to avoid repetition. That said, we definitely had some favorites worth returning to—crepes from Cumin for breakfast, oysters and pizza for lunch, and Greek salad and the wrapped dates for dinner. The staff provided excellent service and were warm, engaging, and attentive throughout our stay. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be to offer quicker dining options—sometimes we just wanted a fast bite rather than a full sit-down experience. Overall, 5/5—would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable getaway.

Great resort!!! Came here for our honeymoon. Had a really good time. Great food, awesome villas and amazing butler service. They also have house reef where you can enjoy snorkelling. You can also access Anantara Dhigu’s island as well.

My wife and I recently spent our honeymoon at Anantara Veli Maldives, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Faz, the resort manager, who made sure every aspect of our stay was seamless and enjoyable. The level of hospitality we experienced at Anantara Veli was exceptional. The entire resort team was professional, friendly, and always willing to assist. We were especially touched by how attentive and genuine the staff were, often going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We opted for the half board package, which included daily breakfast and dinner. This allowed us to explore a variety of dining options while providing excellent value and convenience during our stay. One of the unexpected highlights was a complimentary upgrade to the Deluxe Over Water Pool Villa. The villa offered breathtaking views and direct access to the ocean, creating the perfect private sanctuary for our honeymoon. It truly elevated our experience and made it all the more memorable. On our final night, my wife and I were feeling slightly under the weather. Noa, one of the supervisors, noticed this and kindly provided us with some lozenges to ease our sore throats. Her kindness and attentiveness reflected the caring culture we experienced throughout our stay. While our experience was overwhelmingly positive, we do have a couple of suggestions for improvement. It would be helpful if the resort offered bicycles for guests to travel more easily, especially for those staying in overwater villas that are located farther from the main island. Additionally, we found that the snack options were quite limited and relatively pricey, which could be improved considering that guests are confined to the island with no nearby alternatives. All in all, Anantara Veli exceeded our expectations and provided us with the perfect setting for our honeymoon. We left feeling relaxed, cared for, and grateful for the thoughtful service and luxurious surroundings. I would highly recommend this resort to couples looking for a romantic and peaceful getaway.
