Grand Hyatt Bali

Amazing experience! We got the all-inclusive package and it did not disappoint. Oppulant gardens, ponds, scenery right by the beach. Hotel is gorgeous, clean, modern. Restaurants are all very good but you need to book for dinner 1 day in advance. Staff were fantastic!!!! Especially Krisna and Ari in the pool area. Staff are friendly, helpful and respectful, great with kids! Cannot recommend this enough!

The location of this resort is fantastic. It is surrounded with well maintained gardens which includes ponds and swimming pools. The staff are willing to help anything you may need. The rooms are nice, but let the rest of the resort down as they need updating. They are looking a bit tired and need some updates. The tiles in the shower were loose and the TV was old. Overall, I do recommend this resort as food value.

We booked the all-inclusive package at Grand Hyatt Bali and found it to be well worth it. Often with these packages, you get the sense that staff might overlook prepaid guests, but that wasn’t the case here. Service was attentive and responsive most of the time, which made a big difference. The resort is very family oriented, with lots of kids around, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter vibe. The inclusive drink selection was above average, though a few classic poolside cocktails like frozen daiquiris were noticeably absent for those expecting the full tropical experience. The Japanese restaurant was the highlight of the dining options excellent food and atmosphere. Our room was spacious and clean, and while the bed was quite firm, it turned out to be more comfortable than expected. However, we did request an early check-in weeks in advance, as we arrived at 12pm. The room wasn’t ready until after the standard check-in time at 3pm. It felt like the coordination could have been better. We suspected it might have been because we were on the all-inclusive package and they didn’t want us accessing benefits too early. It would’ve been more respectful if they had just been upfront, rather than stringing us along with promises to “do their best.” Overall, a solid experience with great value, and we’d happily return, just with more realistic expectations around check-in.

It’s a beautiful resort. Rooms are fine no issues at all. Staff are friendly. The all inclusive package was disappointing as the hotel has recently significantly limited what alcohol beverages you can order to only the cheapest spirits cocktails. Saying that 2 cocktail bars made them nice and around the beach the cocktails were pretty bad. This is different to when I came to the hotel in February this year and it was a lot better. Food was very nice. Overall enjoyed but question value in all inclusive when quality of drinks has declined so much.

Honest review. The Grand Hyatt Bali. I had expected a 5 star hotel/resort, when arriving. Upon arrival, we walked in and thought, Wow, this is beautiful but quickly saw through the cracks. The arrival was fine, not a 5 star arrival as witnessed and experienced at 5 star stays around the world. The initial welcome drink, was a bit off and our party of 6 did not care for it, we were escorted to our room, in which was so far, upon arriving, at our room, everyone needed a shower. Being hot, I opened a sealed bottle of water, and it had the exact dirty water taste, as the initial beverage, and was undrinkable. When going to take a shower, rather parched, I noted no hangers for our towels, in which had to remain outside of the shower area and also, meant we had to mop the floor after every shower. The Air conditioner did not keep the room cool, and My wife and I tossed all night sweating in the supposed, 5 star room. Given today's use of multiple electronic equipment, smart phones and laptops, I expected more than just 1 electrical outlet within the room, and we had to keep switching devices, just to keep them partially charged, before going out of the room for photos, etc. The days were hot and due to the structures and vegetation, there was no wind to speak of, making the Bali sun all the more hot. As you walk through the resort, there are peddlers, selling their wares and it looked more like a market than a 5 star resort. The first time, I have ever seen this allowed in 5-star accommodations. My family, went for a drink at the sky bar, ordered and payed for their drinks, went to sit at a table under an umbrella to escape the sun, and when the drinks were ready, the server motioned our party over. My family, daughter, sister, and aunt, went to pick up their order and when walking away was accosted by the Grand Hyaty Bali staff, making racist comments about my Vietnamese family, stealing the drinks and asking what nationality they were. Even after being told the drinks were payed for, this staff person continued with their insults, and was asking for our room numbers. It wasn't until my family was made to return, so the initial server could verify the drinks had already been purchased. Cannot even tell you how bad a 0 star was wished for. I spoke with the manager at the reception area about this incident with her staff. To her credit, she listened to our complaint, and later we found a small water bottle in our room, as a token or gesture. I would rather receive a 5 star service, than a small gesture to say were sorry. We could not wait to get away from this resort, and stayed in villas afterward, in which were 5 star treatments by their staff and had many more amenities and clean water. Every location we stayed, every restaurant we ate at in Bali received a 5 star review from myself, with this one exception. And finally, why does the staff here ask for your room number when it is not required, such as, asking, "is this the way to the beach?". It is my belief that the staff asks what your room number is so that they know how badly they can treat you. We will not stay here ever again. It only appears a nice stay in the advertisements, and until you actually stay.
